"Nevermore..."

Films: Kaw (2007)

Alias: None

Type: Natural

Location: Civilized Area

Height/Weight: That of average ravens.

Affiliation: Neutral

Summary: Aw, ravens. Symbols of gothic hijinks, death, and general misfortune. But honestly, that's only just one of many interpretations of these impressive corvids. Sadly, can you guess which one westerners gravitate towards the most?

History: They were warned of by a farmer, but no one listened. A premonition involving a conspiracy of ravens descending upon the small town he called home. Then some ravens came into contact with mad cow disease. More and more start going insane from the disease. And before you know it, the flock has become big enough to indeed reduce the town to a mass grave.

Notable Kills: The conspiracy sends a car careening into a river, and catching fire with the two occupants not lasting long.

Final Fate: After their rampage has continued for the umpteenth time, the ravens are all seemingly killed in one fell swoop when some gasoline is ignited to trigger an explosion that engulfs them all. However, it is later shown that a few ravens survived. Where they are now is anyone's guess.

Powers/Abilities: None.

Weakness: Anything conventional.

Scariness Factor: 3.5-For what it's worth, this rip-off of "The Birds" has real ravens in it. Anyone who's uncomfortable seeing a bunch of dark corvids gathering and swarming the camera is going to not be in for a good time. But alas, the Syfy curse strikes again, and lots of shoddy CGI is used for the larger scale attacks.

Trivia: -Ravens may be symbols of evil in contemporary western fiction, but they are also symbols of intelligence, prophecy, and a connection between the mortal and spiritual worlds, among other things across cultures. Overall, most symbolism across the world for them is far from negative.

-Okay, we jest. Most of the birds in this film are in fact crows, but at the same time, they are labeled ravens in the film. Another "giant Gila monster is actually a bearded lizard" incident.

Somebody either saw this coming or was rather morbid to put that on the car.

Thought those beaks were harmless, did you?
Remember! That's the first thing they'll go for!

Sir, it's too late for the kid. Do you not see the removed flesh being carried?
That's a doll's eye, idiot corvid!
